Château de La Bourdaisère,
tomato conservatory

In the park of the Château de la Bourdaisière, the 2 hectare closed vegetable garden dating from the 19th century is entirely dedicated to the tomato.

Four hundred varieties of this beautiful fruit in its many different colours are grown in these gardens with great care. From the most ordinary to the most astonishing, the Conservatoire de la Bourdaisière presents the tomato through all its shapes and sizes, and welcomes the visitor to a tasting centre in the former stables of the castle.

Discover a large diversity of cocktails based on the tomato, some of which capture the flavours of long ago, while others explore more contemporary ones. Jams, mustards and other traditional offerings cover the stylish shelves of the shop.
